Collinsville, CT (January 7, 2019) – RemedyOne has named Ralph Pisano Chief Pharmacy Officer. This position accurately reflects Ralph’s responsibility of expanding Clinical programs as well as the company’s relationships with key pharmaceutical manufacturers and overseeing the ongoing invention and refinement of customer solutions that improve efficiency, eliminate waste, reduce cost and improve outcomes across the healthcare spectrum.
“Ralph’s experience, passion, character and vision have been key factors in RemedyOne’s success creating and delivering disruptive solutions that lead to better outcomes for our customers,” said Mike Waterbury, RemedyOne’s Founder and CEO. “Due to Ralph and his team’s experience and effort, we are able to provide industry-leading rebates for our clients based on direct contracts with pharmaceutical manufacturers. Having our own contracts is a RemedyOne differentiator that enables us to continue to deliver innovative and exclusive solutions for our clients.”
Ralph’s unique clinical and business background gives him insight that he turns into healthier ways to do business. He built RemedyOne’s Trade and Clinical team with exceptional, experienced talent. He will continue expanding the team in 2019 to support the company’s growing client base.
In conjunction with RemedyOne’s clinical leadership, Ralph led the implementation of the company’s Pharmacy and Therapeutics (P&T) Committee, which streamlines and focuses formulary selection based on clinical efficacy and safety, and cost. The creation of the P&T Committee advances RemedyOne’s ability to drive change in the industry.
“At RemedyOne, titles are not as critical as how our people can drive efficient results and deliver value to customers through a more efficient healthcare model,” Waterbury said.“ It’s a pleasure accompanying Ralph at industry conferences and client meetings, and seeing the respect he has earned. Manufacturers and customers alike appreciate that he has always been fair and lives up to his commitments.”
“I’m thrilled about the opportunities my expanded role will lead to.” Pisano said. “We’ve made hands-on improvements like developing a formulary that makes sense by excluding drugs that have more cost-effective alternatives. We choose drugs based on clinical efficacy, rather than just driving higher rebates. We’ve developed industry leading clinical and formulary support for our client base. We’re creating unique offerings, like a student formulary we developed for a client. We’re changing the industry for the better and that’s exciting.”
Before joining RemedyOne, Ralph was Senior Vice President of Manufacturer Relations at ICORE Healthcare, a unit of Magellan Health Services. He was the company’s expert in pharmacy benefit management, health plan operations, rebate contracting and specialty pharmacy (medical and pharmacy benefit). He also managed specialty pharmaceuticals for complex conditions and created multiple PBM formularies. Prior to that, he held a variety of positions of increasing responsibility at EmblemHealth, culminating as Senior Director, Pharmacy, where he was responsible for the oversight of pharmacy operations and all budget/financial, as well as all manufacturer contracting, including rebates related to pharmacy benefit services. He was Manager, Corporate Pharmacy Program at HIP Health Plan where he oversaw operations for 12 corporate-owned retail pharmacies and started his career as a Pharmacist. Ralph holds a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from Long Island University, Arnold and Marie Schwartz College of Pharmacy and Health Science.
